Image Use

I’m an internet dinosaur and been publishing on it since the very beginning (1992-ish), so I’m no stranger to the near-futility of trying to prevent random copying and republishing of images and other copyrighted files. But I remain and always will remain an advocate of artists and makers and respecting their work–which often means paying them for it, getting permission for it, and ultimately giving them credit where credit is due. Even if you don’t give a crap about the law, it’s still about being nice. I like nice.

Every image/photo on this site is one of the following:

  • My photography or illustration and copyrighted by me, which means you need to get permission from me to use it.
  • An image for which I have purchased a license to use on this website, which means you shouldn’t use it unless you purchase a license of your own.
  • An image that’s free to share and reproduce–either because it is in the public domain or has a license that allows it to be reused and republished. (See below.)

The bottom of each post has a clear statement about which one this is. Make sense? Thanks for the respect!
